September Enrolment
Book your child's weekly A-Level or GCSE place now and hold the same slot for the whole year ahead. Every session - start to finish - is delivered by Ed himself, with progress tracked properly from week one.
September places are limited, since Ed teaches these sessions personally and keeps his own diary deliberately small.
See FeesThe A-Level Bespoke Programme
Before a single session takes place, Ed personally assesses your child and agrees a clear starting point and target grade in writing.
Ed builds a programme around your child's specific gaps, exam board, and timeline. No off-the-shelf lesson plans - ever.
One hour per week, delivered personally by Ed, with progress tracked throughout and honest updates for parents each term.

The Person Behind It All
I'm Ed. I hold a First-Class degree in Mathematics from the University of Exeter, and I spent a decade embedded inside two of England's leading independent boarding schools - Blundell's and Cranleigh. At Cranleigh I wasn't just a maths teacher - I was Assistant Housemaster, with pastoral responsibility for the students in my care.
I know these schools from the inside. I know what they expect of their students, how they teach, and where students most commonly struggle. That insider knowledge is what makes Ed's Maths different from any tutoring agency.
I've since pursued professional hockey at the highest level - winning four Premier League titles - while raising three young children. Both keep me sharp, grounded, and deeply invested in helping young people perform at their best.
Why Families Choose Us
Every student - at every level - starts with an independent diagnostic assessment. We build the programme from what we actually find, not what anyone assumes.
Ed has taught in UK independent schools. He knows the culture, the standards, and exactly what examiners reward.
Every programme is built specifically for your child - their level, exam board, gaps, and timeline. No off-the-shelf lesson plans, ever.
Places are deliberately limited. Ed builds and oversees every programme personally, and will never take on more students than the practice can serve to the standard he sets himself.
In Their Own Words
"A-Level maths is a massive step up, but Ed's deep understanding of the syllabus made it manageable. His help with mechanics and calculus was a game-changer for my grades."
"As a parent, I've been so impressed by how Ed transformed my child's attitude toward maths. The support for the St John's curriculum was spot on."
"Ed is an incredible tutor for A-Level. He has a knack for explaining the most abstract concepts in a way that actually sticks. I couldn't have done it without him."
The Standard
Every programme at Ed's Maths begins and ends with Ed: he marks the diagnostic personally, builds the plan himself, and reviews progress throughout. Nothing about your child's tuition is generic, and nothing is delegated by default.
For the A-Level Bespoke Programme, Ed delivers every session personally.
Start the ConversationEvery programme is built personally by Ed around your child's level, exam board, and learning style. Not a generic plan - something built from real diagnostic findings.
Ed has taught at Cranleigh School and Blundell's School - two of England's leading independent boarding schools. He understands the culture, the standards, and the pace your child is working to.
Ed holds a current enhanced DBS certificate. Your child's safety is never treated as a formality.
Warmth, patience, and rigour - the three qualities Ed's Maths was built on. Every session, every student, every week.
"Every programme here is built by me, overseen by me, and answered for by me. That's the only way I'm willing to do this."
